First Day of School

Well, I've become very much engrossed with Facebook. It's such the quick and dirty way of catching up with people and getting a little connection with the outside world. I can spend like 5 minutes on there and be completely satisfied. I can post one sentence updates and be done. I love it. However, since my scrapbooking days are behind me (not because I chose for it to be, but it obviously is considering I haven't touched it since I met Paul (year and a half ago). So....this is my documentation of life instead, my blog.!!!

So, we had a great first day. I feel like a veteran now with it being my third year there. Benjamin is now upstairs with me...and does he have an amazing teacher!!! Our sweet friend, Mrs. Cook! Double Hooray from us all!!! Cait is just below me, right down the stairs. I feel like I have all my little chicks very close to me. I love it!!

Here are some pictures from our first day...

Cool new backpacks

They really are buddies ya know!

#19 finding his cubby. A big kid backpack too!

Oh the blessing!!! There are no words! He tells us everyday (just in case we forgot) that Mrs. Cook is the best teacher in the world!! It's going to be a great year!!

Cait baby with her teacher Miss Wyatt. She is spontaneous and fun and the perfect teacher for little girl!

God is so good to give us Trinity. We trust that he has placed our kids right where He wanted them this year. We also trust that He gave me just the kiddos that I was supposed to teach this year! I feel blessed. I have a brand new teaching assistant named Brandie. She is a complete gift from God!! There is such hope for a great year...for all of us!

Medieval Times

As a special Back-to-School treat Paul and I took the kids to Medieval Times (or the castle restaurant as the kids call it). Our kiddos have been very interested in this place since we started taking the I-35 route to Houston. We pass it now going that way. I mean, what kid wouldn't be intrigued by a castle sitting right there on the side of the road?? Right?

It was a very impressive restaurant, very large inside and out.

Once you go inside you are assigned a section to eat in. We were assigned the green section and told to cheer for the green knight.

There was a whole scenario set up...there was trouble in the land....people were being oppressed, the prince was sent out to make things right...the princess didn't want him to go...the bad knight (the GREEN knight) was fighting for a different cause and there was trouble!!! Nut shell version. Very cheesy...blah, blah, blah!

Here's our valiant green knight, that ended up getting slayed in the end...cause well, he was the BAD guy!!

All the knights representing a section. There's the red section behind them.

The cheesy princess. Cait said while we were walking out that she wished I was playing the princess up there. HA!

Here we utensils!!!!

Lots of real jousting and sword fighting. You could see sparks fly when the swords clashed together. Awesome! The lowered chain guards in between them and the audiance for that part. I guess just in case a sword wnet flying!!

Fun night...sweet family...good times

Saturday we hosted a little birthday party for Cait...well it was really a lot more like a playdate with cupcakes and ice cream! It was the most low key party ever! LOVED it!

Here are the girls in the floor playing with Cait's new paper dolls that she got for her birthday.

Our princess dressing her princess dolls!

Here's sweet Ashlyn! She's just one of those little girls that you want your child to be friends with, ya know??? So sweet and thoughtful and always kind!

Here are the girls decorating princess cookies to their liking

Long-time friend Anna, who is quite the little her momma

Cupcakes with diamond rings in them! Oh my!

The party crew!
Actually, the highlight of the party was when we were eating ice cream. I guess the ice cream was so hard that one of the girls' spoon broke. It went flying in the air and popped the balloon above her head! We all screamed! You can't buy that type of excitement, I tell you!

Pretty cookies taste better than plain ones, didn't you know?

Happy birthday dear Cait!

Happy chocolate face

Next the princesses decided to go jump on the trampoline...what fun!

Present time, present time, open the present and see what's inside!

Homemade cards are always the best!!

Fun party with sweet little friends! What can be better?
